David Torrance MSP Visits Innovate Foods
David Torrance MSP visited Kirkcaldy-based food producer Innovate Foods on Monday 6 TH February 2012 to tour the facility and meet staff.
Mr Torrance was said to be eager to see how a company in his constituency has become one of the UK’s leading food producers in its marketplace.
The third generation family firm, which currently produces in excess of 8 million portions annually for the UK foodservice sector and exports throughout parts of Europe, has enjoyed two consecutive years of 25% growth. It is currently working on an international development strategy with the assistance of Scottish Enterprise and Scottish Development International to help the business expand further overseas.
“Mr. Torrance was interested to see our high quality products, from the initial raw ingredients, through to the finished product coming off the production line at our state-of-the-art factory facilities”, said Innovate Foods managing director Tony Dumbreck.
“When times are challenging and there is turbulence in the market, we regard that as an excellent opportunity for a nimble business, like us, to grow. We invested more than £100,000 in new plant and equipment last year and a substantial extension is planned for this year” added Tony.
