Due to continuing business successes, Innovate Foods are currently recruiting for several positions within the manufacturing team based in Kirkcaldy.
Due to continuing business successes, Innovate Foods are currently recruiting an Administration Assistant and a Specifications Technician for their team based in Kirkcaldy.
The position will be to write and maintain all customers and internal specifications, ensuring that the information provided is accurate. This will include to review and update raw material and packaging specifications, process specifications and quality assurance specifications. You will also liaise with the NPD team to ensure the information is correct. Other duties will be to maintain new supplier lists and assist the technical team with customer visits and audits.
The successful candidate will have had at least two to three years previous experience of working in food manufacturing, specifically on specifications and working with suppliers. Experience of using web-based specifications systems would be beneficial, as would a qualification in food sciences/technology. Strong attention to detail and specification writing skills is essential, as are strong analytical skills and the ability to work as part of a team. You will be flexible in your approach and be able to reprioritize you work depending on requirements.

Quality Assurance Technician (shift work) x 2
The positions will be to carry out internal audits and day to day quality assurance from incoming raw materials to finished product. The successful candidates will work with the on-line operator who carry out daily QC checks, to validate the QC process is meeting its objectives. You will take reference samples and carry out sensory analysis from all production runs. You will also collect samples for microbiological analysis as documented in the quality plans. Other duties will include reporting, recording and investigating non-conformances, highlighting training requirements and compiling technical reports as required. You will be working closely with internal colleagues, including Technical, Operations and NPD teams to meet the need of Food service and retail customer needs.
The successful candidates will have had previous experience of a quality role in a food manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of food safety and quality compliance. You will hold an intermediate HACCP (Level 3 or above) and have experience, in Sensory Analysis and the ability to understand Microbiological data, as well as good data collation and report writing skills. You will be organised with good interpersonal, presentation and communication skills. Being a good team worker and computer literate with knowledge of excel, word and other QMS systems is also essential.
